Megan CalLES, CAE

Managing Director

We are thrilled to announce that we are transitioning from using an event planning company to partnering with Megan Calles as an independent contractor. Her tenure with the Literary Society of the Southwest began in the summer of 2021, providing invaluable administrative support and managing events. With her newly established business and in her new role as the Managing Director, Megan is poised to bring her operational expertise and assist in the development and governance of the Literary Society. Her enthusiasm for this new opportunity to contribute to the growth of the Literary Society is exceptional, and she looks forward to collaborating with the Board of Directors and members to fulfill the Society's mission and vision, ensuring our events are more personalized and seamlessly executed than ever before.

Megan has been in the association management industry since 2014 and, in May 2024, became a Certificate Association Executive (CAE)

through the American Society of Association Executives.  In her previous roles as Executive Director for state-based and national associations, Megan has planned and executed countless events and worked with a variety of not-for-profit associations, managing their finances, marketing, and other day-to-day operations.

Outside of her career, Megan enjoys time with her growing family, including twins Ziggy and Zoey, born in September 2023. When Megan is not navigating the new world of being a twin mom, she volunteers with the Junior League of Phoenix and recently rekindled her love for reading, inspired by the members of the Literary Society (her favorites are mysteries!) Please join us in welcoming Megan Calles to our Literary Society family!
